This young man had a very special Birthday this year! He turned 8!

He had a little birthday at home with his favorite dinner (pasta) and his grandparents.

He picked Texas sheet cake for dessert and then opened his presents. His BIG party was a few weeks later

A few special things about Boston:

He has always been easy going

He has a great sense of humor and loves to tell jokes

He makes up jokes all the time

He is very sensitive and thoughtful

He is his little brothers BEST FRIEND

He always does his very best in everything

He loves to play sports: football, baseball, basketball

He always gets the sportsmanship award

Whenever I can't find Beckom he is always with Boston

Boston is great at yard work, he mows ALL the lawns, does a great job and loves to help his dad

He is very responsible

We are so Lucky to have this boy in our family. He is a very good example to all of us and we love him so much. Happy Birthday Bubba!

Santa Visit

Just before Thanksgiving we went to visit Santa. He was great. He took the time to talk to each kid. I love that he reminded them to respect Mom and clean up all their messes.

Its almost Christmas and I am finally getting to Halloween. That's about right for me!

We did our annual pumpkin decorating night and Carmel apples. The kids always do a great job and are very creative.

Mountain View Cheerleaders do a fundraiser every year where they let little girls be a cheerleader for a day.

Alexa got to spend the afternoon with the Cheerleaders learning cheers. They got a pizza dinner, T-shirt and shorts.

This isn't even half the girls that were out there. It was so fun!

We took the kids to the Mickey Mouse Halloween Party at Disneyland while were there. We got there at 3 and left at 11:30. It was a lot of fun. We got to ride all the big rides a couple of times. The kids loved the handfuls of candy at the tick or treat stations and the decorations were really cool.

How Cute!!

Most of the time you could find Alexa playing and taking care of all the little kids. I love what a natural mother she is.

I think Sera wishes she was raised on the beach. She loves it!

By the time we loaded the boat it was so foggy we couldn't see past the edge of the boat.

We are so glad that the Johnson's invited us. We had such a great time. Beckom woke up every morning and asked to go see if the wave pool was still on. He is still asking!!

CALIFORNIA PART 2

The family finally joined us on Friday night. We spent the day Saturday on the beach. Then on Sunday we went to church and headed out for some Sunday adventure.

CALIFORNIA PART 1

I was one lucky girl for fall break. I got to spend two entire weeks in Oceanside right on the beach. Some friends of ours go every year and invited us to come. Frankie and the kids drove me and the two boys over the first weekend. Then I stayed with Boston and Beckom and Frankie and the girls went home. They came back to spend the next week of fall break with us. It was HEAVEN!!

We had one day that was really rainy, so we had a Halloween party. We painted lanterns, made spider balloons...

Daddy Daughter Campout

Frankie got to take the two girls camping with our ward a few weeks back. They LOVED it! They slept in a tent, had an outdoor movie, hiked a waterfall, and even had a candy cannon.

Yes we did! We took this crazy group of girls up to the cabin in ShowLow for Labor Day weekend to celebrate a very special 12th Birthday for an amazing girl! Sera had a BIG birthday on Sept 11. She is officially the big 1-2. Watch out Young Women's here she comes!

The boys and I went up a day early on Thursday to get everything ready. We bought the food and decorated. Sweet Boston worked so hard. He made a bunch of hearts and a poster to put in the entrance to lead Sera and her friends to the PARTY!

We kept these girls busy and they kept us entertained. We rode quads, went for go cart rides, played games, listened to a LOT of laughter. I also french braided tons of hair every day!

These girls all slept in a trailer that is parked at the cabin. They named it the "party shack"! They decorated it, made a very cute list of rules and partied all night

We took the girls on a snipe hunt. Thanks to Dad and uncle Brady they loved it. Those two scared them so bad they were freaked out the entire night. It was GREAT!

Frankie built a big outside movie screen. The girls watched PROM and did a little JUST DANCE on it! Thanks Dad it was a hit!!

Aunt Brooke even gave a little "mountain make up class". I love how she lined them all up. Don't they look beautiful?

This party was a lot of fun. Even for us adults. I can't believe Sera is 12 already...where has the time gone. I will do another post with her on her Birthday. It was a big day for her because it was also her first day in Young Women's!

Fun things about Sera:

She loved to make and edit movies

She loves, running, swimming, tennis, and soccer

She has a very kind heart

She is a picky eater

She is ALWAYS freezing (even in AZ)

She works really hard at school and is a great student

She is a great piano player, even wants to get a degree in college as a piano major(that or film)

When she is stressed or angry she plays the piano

Her biggest goal is to go to BYU someday

She is REALLY tiny(the size of a 9 year old, so cute!)

We are so grateful for Sera in our home. You can always count on her for a sweet word or hug just when you need it. Her thoughtfulness is a great example to all of us. Happy Birthday squirt we love you!

Lost some Adenoids brought home some Tubes

Beckom went back in for his second round of tubes Friday. This time they removed his Adenoids also. Here's hoping for a break from sickness and antibiotics. I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed. The pictures are from Frankie's phone so they are not the best quality.

He loved the gown and socks. He was so excited, even at 6 am.

Walking in like a big boy

Talking to the doctors with daddy. When it was time for him to go back with the nurse he took her hand and carried his blankies and walked with her with a big smile. He did GREAT!

Waiting in recovery with his IV and a little Mickey Mouse on the IPad. He had a hard time for about 30 minutes. Then he was just mad for the next hour because they wouldn't take the IV out. As soon as they removed it that sweet smile came right back.

Recovery with the Adenoids is a little harder than just tubes. We had to stay at the surgical center a little longer and the recovery at home is harder. He has had a sore throat and mouth for a few days and a little fever. His ears were so bad when they went in there that they drained a lot of blood and infection for a few days along with some pain. He has done great. He tells me he is sick or has an ouchee. He takes his medicine and smiles most of the time. I can't wait to see if he will start to feel better!

Back to School

Summer is officially over. We kicked off the school year with our annual back to school night. Dad built his fort in the family room, we had pizza, and watched a movie together with some "sticky" popcorn. I thought the kids wouldn't be to excited this year, (since they are getting SOO old) but they were begging to do it!

When the first day of school arrived they were so excited. Boston set his own alarm and was so proud to get up on his own. We always start out the school year with a little"breakfast" cake!

Sera is in 6th grade this year. She is excited to have her first male teacher Mr. Bowers.

We are excited for a great school year. Beckom will even be going to playschool with his two cousins a few hours a week! Oh what am I going to do with myself!?!

A GRAND time in Arizona

Right before school started we took the kids for a little 2 night stay cation and the Arizona Grand. Misty and Bobby and their family, as well as our friends the Johnson's joined us. We had the best time. The resort has a lazy river, wave pool, two REALLY big slides (that I can't say I loved going down) and a kids pool and splash pad.

Each kid had a buddy to hang out with. So they could go do all the slides and fun stuff while we tried to keep the little ones happy in the wave pool.

The last of the summer fun

Here is a few random things from the end of our summer!

I guess all the fun this summer wore this boy out! He fell asleep practically sitting up one evening. Love this kid!

This is Beckom when you change a stinky diaper. Lucky kid can cover up but mom still has to smell it. I guess its time to potty train!

All summer long you can find Beckom in the middle of my floor, with a long line of trucks.

We took the kids to a D-Backs game with Bostons baseball team. His coaches got free tickets for the entire family and planned a night we could all go together. We had a great time.

After HOURS of removing braids, this is what Sera looked like when she finally took out her braids from Mexico. Gotta love the 80's hair!

Swim Team Champions!

The kids had another successful summer in swim team! They get in great shape, enjoy their friends, and love doing it!

Sera had a great season. She went to divisional's and placed in the top 20 out of over 80 kids in all her races and made alternate for breaststroke for the championships! She raced in freestyle, backstroke and and breaststroke. Not bad for such a little squirt!! She is a great swimmer! Way to go Sera we are very proud of you and your great attitude and determination to do your best.

The Bos Man is a great swimmer. He LOOOOOOVES butterfly, hates breaststroke, and thinks that swim team is the best. He raced in the Championships in backstroke and butterfly. He got 4th overall in both races. He moved up to a new age group this year and was the youngest again. He never let it stop him. Way to go Boston!

Alexa has a love/hate for swim team. She is amazing at it, but doesn't really love doing it. She always goes with that winning smile. She also did Synchro this year and REALLY enjoyed it. Alexa qualified for the Championships this year in breaststroke and got 3rd. She got bumped up in age this year, just barely and couldn't swim with all the kids in her grade. She swam against girls that are in Sera's grade. We always joked that when they got up on the blocks she looked like she was swimming against amazon women! Way to go Alex I wish I could swim as good as you!

Rocky Point!

This post will give you picture overload. The kids all have certain memories they want to keep and so do I! It was hard to narrow it down!

Thanks to some Awesome friends the Gibbons that invited us to Rocky point with them, we had an AMAZING vacation. I was a little nervous before we left but we LOVED IT!! We spend five days there having what the kids called "the greatest vacation ever". The water was warm, the wind was blowing and providing great wave for the kids, the condo was perfect and we had a great time with or friends.

The 5 of us spent a FEW hours getting our hair braided. The best thing ever. No hair to do for two weeks. Wish I could get this done all the time!

What's a beach trip without burying someone?

Boston spent most of his time exploring and building. He would put on the snorkel and search for sea life and shells. He even brought home a couple of hermit crabs the only lasted 2 weeks here. He was content to do his own thing.

This is typical Beckom. No suit stayes up on him, his hair is always wild, and he loved every minute of it

Of course we had to check stuff out from all the vendors. We left with a great deal on some jewelry and a few other small treasures.

This was Sera the entire time. She is a true beach girl!!

Gotta love the goggles. My kids figured out that the goggles would keep the salt water out and never went without. We lost a few pair but it was worth it to see them out having so much fun!

Here are some of the kids the last day. The gibbons have 6 kids and the twins are the youngest. They were all so great to play with my kids. I am so happy that we got to go and make these great memories with our kids and friends!

July 4th

I was horrible at taking pictures but I did catch a few! We went to the Cabin for the 4th with Frankie's Parents. It was great weather and of course the kids had a GREAT time. The fireworks were cancelled because of forest fires, that was a little disappointing. We still kept everyone busy and happy with quad rides, homemade ice cream, lots of card games and a trip to the go cart place.

Here we all are right after the rain stopped. We were just starting a ride when the rain started coming down hard!

Beckom gt to ride with Grandmas and LOVED it. He had the biggest smile the entire time.

Our Utah Summer Vacation

After Frankie ran his Marathon we stayed in Utah for a great vacation. We stayed with Frankie's Aunt and Uncle for a few days and had a great time. Went to our old ward, family BBQ, J-Dogs, Visit to BYU, Dinner with my grandma, Farr's ice cream, and a few days in Salt Lake. It was a great trip. My kids loved it. The weather was perfect, we had an awesome time.

Here we are at the beginning of our hike to the top of Timpanogos cave. My Aunt Pam, cousin Aubrey and nephew Conner came. I started out with the backpack on because Frankie was still sore from his race and am soooo grateful Conner was there to save me. That Big old

At BYU we let the kids look all around. We looked for the oldest book we could find in the library, we hit up the bookstore, we looked at the cafeteria, and of course got ice cream at the creamery.

Sera wants to go there some day and love every minute of it!

Then we were off to Salt Lake City for a few days. Beck's favorite part was the light rail.

We miss living in Utah and love being able to go back and visit. We had such a fun time with all the cousins and family and friends!

Frankie's First Marathon!!

Frankie Ran the Utah Valley Marathon in June! The Weather was Perfect the race was a killer and the kids were excited to see dad finish. They made a cute sign and after weeks of joking about Frankie pooping his pants while he ran, Sera decorated a diaper for him!

He did a great job. This was a very hard course with a LOT of hills. They started up the canyon past deer creek reservoir and finished in downtown Provo. He Finished 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 40 minutes. About 10 minutes slower than his goal but I think he did great for his first run!!

Great Job Frankie! It didn't inspire me enough to go out and run a marathon but you do inspire me to do better!

Piano Recital

The Kids did the end of the year recital. Of course they all had their songs memorized and did a perfect job.

Boston was up first. Played like it was no big deal and did a great job!

Alexa played her song perfectly and they flashed us a very cute grin right after.

Sera has really improved this year and played a tough song and did it perfect! She did a great job.

All three got a special award at the end for the best practicing. They do a great job. I don't even have to bug them.

Way to go guys, you all did a wonderful job!

Look how happy it makes you! This little guy stood at the window watching it fill the lawn so excited for his Bubba and Sissy's to get home from swim team to play in it with him. When they finally got home he stripped so fast. I thought he would at least leave a diaper on. No WAY!!

Alexa was a trooper and ran around with him for a LONG time. She is an amazing big sister!

This stud just played his first year of Baseball. He did machine pitch and did AWESOME. He had never played before, didn't even own a mitt!

This is his team. They were the Division CHAMPIONS!! It was such a fun season to watch.

Boston got the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR award. You could count on him for a base hit EVERY TIME, he became a killer 3rd baseman, and as always had a great attitude. This is his buddy Ethan, they had a lot of fun together.

I am so proud of him. I can't believe how well he played. I guess I should have put him in T-ball or something!?!

End of the Year Activities!

Miss Alex got to launch her Rocket. Her's flew so high that she lost it in a backyard! This is her two friends, Brooke and Paige.

Beck Took Swim lessons From Aunt Shelley. He had a love hate relationship.

After 1 sesssion he can swim to Frankie and I and will dive for rings. Way to go!!

We drained our pool and had it cleaned. The kids loved plying in it while it was re-filling!

Student Council

Sera and Alexa both ran for student council this year. Sera for Vice President and Alex for Secretary. They Both did such a great job. I can't figure out how they get up there and don't look nervous at all. I wish their amazing talent would rub off on me!

Alexa was Granny Alexa. She Totally got into character, used a shaky voice, walked really slow, and did and EXCELLENT job! She had some tough competition and didn't win this year but she is ready to take it next year! We are so proud of her and her great attitude.

This is SUMO SERA.... or as she will be called next year... Vice President Sera! This girl even got up and added some funny parts to her speech while on stage. Great Job Sera!!

We are so proud of these girls and their desire to be leaders. They are both so sweet and such hard workers. Great Job! Mom and Dad are so PROUD to call you ours!

Easter

My kids are lucky enough to always have two Easters. We go to Payson with Grandpa and Grandma Anderson on Saturday and picnic and hunt for eggs with all the cousins.

It's that time of year again. Recitals, parties, all the end of the year craziness! Alexa had her dance recital and did and Excellent job!

She performed 3 numbers!

And loved every minute of it. She took dance this year with her cousin Grace. Taking dance with your cousin always makes it an even better time. Here are the two beautiful girls after the show. Daddy got Alex some pretty purple Lilly's for a job well done!

On April 16th this Girly turned 9. And what a party she had. Of course would you expect any thing less from Alexa? She named it "Alexa's Fabulous Spa"!

She greeted all these cute girls at the door and welcomed them into the "waiting room" of the spa where they could have some treats and read magazines.

Aunt Stacey stopped by to see of she could help with the Little Beck man but as you could see he didn't think that was a good idea! Roman wasn't liking it either....are these two the babies or something??

As the Girls arrived they signed in so that they could rotate to the facial station, hair bows, and glitter toes!

Some of my Cute Beehives from church came to give the girls the facials. They did awesome! Head and foot massage, music playing, warm towels, and lots of giggles!

My friend Kristina came and did the glitter toes. She is a trooper. She sat there all night and did 17 set of glitter toes! WHEW!!

Aunt Shelley ran the Hair bow station so how could they not be FABULOUS!

This next picture cracks me up. Aunt Wendy could not have taken the picture at a more perfect moment. OPENING the JUSTIN BIEBER shirt!!!! You should have heard the screams from all the girls in the room. You would have thought the kid had just walked into my house.

Grace and Arie both got Alexa a J.B. shirt. Are these three girls best friend or what? They know each other so well. I love that these cousins can be best friends.

With all the girls Alexa invited, some siblings, my helpers, sera's friends and a few extras that came the day of, we ended up with 23 girls at my house for about 4 hours. We had a great time with a movie and pizza mixed in too! Alexa is a true social girl and loved every minute of it. Thanks to everyone that helped me.... I was way to outnumbered on this one. Without you guys I wouldn't have made it!!

The next day was Alexa's Actual birthday. I was a little worn out! She was ready to party all over again! She got a new swim suit, purple of course (J.B.'s favorite color).

And a big suprise, A NEW bike!

She always gets the hand me downs so she was so excited!

We had her open her presents after dinner and then told her to go get ready for bed. She looked really disappointed. Hiding on her bed..... a BIKE!

Beckom likes to take his girlfriend Joelle for a cruise in his sweet ride. Sometimes if he is lucky she will even put her arm around him. It is so CUTE!

My Aunt Pam came to town to visit my parents. They spent an ENTIRE day picking oranges in my yard and juicing them. They ended up making around 30 gallons of OJ and that was just from the trees in my front yard. We still have the back yard! UUGGHHH to many oranges. But I am so thankful that they made all that yummy juice for us. Thanks guys!

All these handsom young men carry the name Scott. They are all the second son in the family. It starts with my Dad. He is the second son and it is his middle name. He gave it to his second son as a middle name, and now all the second born grandson's have it for a middle name. It didn't start out this way on purpose, but when Beckom came along, we all discoved the accidental tradition and Beck continued it. He almost got my dad's first name instead!!

A few weeks ago we took the kids to Lehi Days. It was a lot of fun. Beck got to ride a horse and do the petting zoo several times. Sera also did the money goat and greased pig. She came very close to getting the pig. She had the best time trying to catch it! (sorry no pictures). The kids all loved it.

The kids had Dr. Seuss week at school that ended with them dressing up as a character from one of his books. We had Boston as THING 1 (his friend from class was thing 2), Sera was SAM I AM, and Alexa was 10 APPLES UP ON TOP! Alexa got picked to be a finalist but didn't win in the end. They all looked cute!

My little Diva Alex couldn't wait to be in the talent show. She choreographed, fashion designed and bossed her way right up on that stage with a little help from her cousin Grace, her friend Brooke and a spotlight performance from Bos and Brooke's little brother Eli.

Ethans Run

Frankie Ran the 10k this year . The kids were just getting better, still to sick to run, and Frankie had a hurt knee so he couldn't do the 1/2 he was going to run. With a hurt knee and all he came in 9th overall and 3rd in his age group! Way to go gimpy!!

We always have a great time at this race and love supporting such a good cause.

Snow Vacation

For Christmas we got the kids a trip to Utah to play in the snow. We were suppose to leave the day after Christmas with some friends and stay in their family cabin near Brian Head. There happened to be such a BIG snow storm that we couldn't get into the cabin and the power lines were down. The kids were getting upset and we were all packed up so we went to Showlow to Frankie's grandma's cabin. When we arrived, no snow. It was perfect. We got groceries, chopped wood, the kids had a football game, rented a few movies. The next day the snow started. We had a blizzard!! It was a blast!

This was our car the first day it snowed. The snow didn't even start falling until about noon and it was only about 5 in this picture. CRAZY!

It was so cold and windy when they went out to go sledding that Alexa came back with frozen eyelashes

You can't tell from the picture but when we were out playing in the snow the wind gusts would come so strong (around 40mph) that the kids would do anything to take cover

Beckom had a great time. He didn't like the first day that was so windy. He did love all the snow boots. He wore them all day!

Here are some of the Beck's with our kids. We had a great week. The men took the kids (all but the babies) skiing one day. The kids loved it. They didn't even complain that it was a -11 wind chill that day. We had 9 kids, 4 adults, great food, lots of red box movies, games, laughter, and a great time!

Christmas

Christmas Eve! We always go to a movie and eat our favorite take out for dinner! It is a great tradition that mom loves! In our new neighborhood they do this thing called "light up the cove". All the houses line the streets with luminaries on Christmas Eve. EVERY house gets done. It was really pretty to walk around and see.

Christmas morning finally came with a big suprise for the kids. A Razor Scooter. They LOVE it!!

Instead of a bunch of presents to open this year mom and dad got them a trip to Utah to play in the snow (post to follow). Here they are reading the letter we gave them.

It was fun to watch Beckom get so excited about Christmas this year. He loved everything about it.

Christmas Parties

We always have a Anderson family party and a Breinholt family party. This year Breinholt's was on Saturday night and Anderson's on Sunday morning in Payson! It is always a fun time!

Here are some of the Anderson cousins doing the nativity. They each sang or played a piano song for us. We went to church, had some good food and the adults had a goodie exchange/contest. The kids had a gift exchange also.

Poor Alexa woke up that morning really sick, throwing up, 104 fever. As she was throwing up she was begging not to miss the party. So we loaded her up with a few throw up baggies and a blanket and off we went. She was quarantined to a back bedroom and only came out for gifts with a mask on. She looked like Michael Jackson! What a good sport. This also began a week and a half long adventure of one of the worst flu 's we have had, at our house for Christmas!!!

The kids exchanged hot chocolate mugs for Christmas. Boston was very Excited to get his signed Max Hall mug!

The Breinholt kids exchanged hats this year. That was a fun change. The kids were so excited.

Grandma and Grandpa Breinholt got most of the kids pillow pets! They were a hit! I heard a lot of screaming!!

We love the tradition of family parties and getting to spend time with our families. Christmas wouldn't be the same without them.

He is very attached to his blanky

He is small for his age 4% on weight, and 5% on height

He doesn't like to eat anything

He wants to be outside all the time

He loves to ride his trike or anything that goes

He loves all "go go's"

He loves Lighting McQueen or as he says "bitibabean"

He still doesn't talk much but has figured out how to communicate with us

After I published the last post I realized I forgot a few more activities leading up to Christmas!!

Here are the kiddos holding the letters they wrote to Santa.

We have to send our Santa letters. Then Boston checks the mail everyday waiting for his letter back from Santa. Santa took a while writing back this year but, they finally arrived! Whew!

Our visit to sit on Santa's lap and tell him exactly what we want for Christmas! Beck didn't enjoy it! Sera asked for an IPod touch! Good thing Santa told her that was a little expensive even for Santa :) Alexa asked for a monkey pillow pet and Boston asked for a puppy. Santa got a couple of tough requests from my kids this year!

We surprised my Dad with a 69th birthday/retirement party! It was a fun night. I was so glad we could honor my dad after all his years of hard work!

We also squeezed in a Christmas Piano recital! This is the first time my kids have been in a recital. They all did a GREAT job. They memorized their songs and even remembered to take a bow.

The month of December went way to fast for me. I can't figure out where the time went. Here are a few things we did to get ready for Christmas!

We did our traditional "Old Fashioned Christmas." Eat dinner by candle light, listen to Christmas music and stay up late watching old Christmas Movies.

This year the kids got to make decorations for "their" Christmas tree. They cut out snowflakes and gingerbread men. They also hung candy canes. The tree was a big hit.

We also went to our traditional Christmas Carol at Hale Theatre with Grandma and Papa

Of course we loved it. It just starts out the Christmas Season right!

We also did our traditional gingerbread house night. Our friends the Becks came over with their 5 kids and we had a great time!

Beck's building consisted of climbing up and shoving as much candy as he could fit in his mouth.

As you can see from the picture we had plenty of candy!

Disneyland

After Thanksgiving we left for California! The kids had done the give a day get a day program earlier in the year. So off we went to use our Disneyland tickets.

California Adventure was first and it was COLD! It was not crowded at all and we got to ride all the big rides several times.

The Tower of Terror was a big hit for the kids. Not so much for me. In the picture they take Sera has a huge smile and I am wrapped around her holding on for dear life. I don't like that drop feeling.

Beckom was a great sport. He loved the "go go's" and all the characters. His favorite thing was the spinning tea cups and ladybugs. He laughed so hard my kids could hardly breath they were laughing at him so much.

Toy Story 3-D. The longest line we had to wait in.

The light parade. We were freezing. After the parade we went to the new World Of Color show. It was amazing. We almost left before it started because we were cold. So glad we waited, it was worth it.

The second day was Disneyland and the weather was PERFECT. The crowds were small and the christmas decorations were great. "It's a Small World" at Christmas is really beautiful. Again we got to ride our favorites at least two times.

We had a great time. The kids were so happy. It was a fun way to kick off the Christmas season.

We started out with our traditional Turkey Trot! The kids and I ran the 2 mile family run and Frankie did the 10K.

Here we are after our run. My kids did great as always, and I didn't stop. That is amazing for me.

Boston Turned 7 on Novemeber 20th. He wanted a colorful cake with blue frosting "like bubble gum", a ripstick, and to go to disneyland!

We took him and his cousin Kamryn to peter piper with his grandparents for a little party

The cake ended up pretty colorful, and it tasted good!

He got a ripstick and my nice neighbor Ansel came over to help him learn how to ride. This thing is hard to do. Boston has worked very hard and can actually ride. He is getting better everyday!

Here are a few things about our Bubba:

He is still my buddy

He is very sweet and sensitive

He loved to play sports

He loved to wrestle and play with anyone he can get to

He wants to be the smartest in school and it drives him crazy if he isn't

He wanted to be in the hardest reading group in first grade and worked hard until he was (he also asked his teacher everyday if he could be moved up)

He loves church and his primary teacher brother Bigler

He loves his little brother and will play with him ALL the time

He loves the colors blue, orange and black

He is a hard worker and will always help his Dad or I

Alexa has never been a long hair kind of girl. For all those that know her, you know she also knows EXACTLY what she is wearing and looking like at all times! I made her a deal about a year and a half ago. If she would let her hair grow then when it got a certain length if she still didn't like it she could cut it. She picked the length and the day she noticed it was there she started begging to cut it off. After weeks I finally gave in. She couldn't be happier!!

She loves it!! I do have to say, she is pretty cute with short hair. Now she wants it shorter!!

Veterans Day

Our student body secretary gave a speech to the entire student body at a school assembly. She wrote her speech, got up and did a great job. I think I was more nervous than her! She gave her speech on how veterans benefit us. She of course was AMAZING!

The next morning our ward had a bike parade. The kids decrated their bikes and off we went. So cute.

We had a big ward party on Saturday night. Games, bounce house, chili cook off. Then we got to trick or treat around the neighborhood.

Then a halloween movie with a few sleepers.

We had a fun night! The kids even scored several king size candy bars in this neighborhood. They loved it!!

That's right this girl never does anything unless she gives it her all! Last week she fractured both of her arms.

She went doorbell ditching with a friend and they tripped each other up while running away. She obviously used both her hands to catch herself. She can't remember anything because it hurt so bad she blacked out. It took her dad and I 3 days of making her go to school, telling her they were sprained and to be tough to finally go get x-rays. (I see a mother of the year award in my future for this one). Both arms are fractured exactly the same, in the same spot. The doctors decided to see if the fitted air cast would work on her right arm to give her a little freedom. She is doing pretty good with no arms. I just get to hear "mom, can you..." a whole lot now!!

Fall Break Part 1

This year we did something new, something we would like to do every year. We took the kids to Tombstone and Apple Annie's in Wilcox. We wanted to hike Kartchner Cavern but they were full. Next year!!

We started out at Tombstone. The kids loved it! We took a tour of the old Birdcage Theatre. An original gambling and burlesque bar. It was really cool. The kids loved all the old stuff. (and thankfully the burlesque part went unnoticed) Before we went I had them watch Gunfight at the OK Corral. I am really glad that I did because it helped them recognize things like Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday.

We had lunch at a restaurant that re-enacts old gunfights that took place in Tombstone. Even Beckom was entertained.

Fall break Part 2

The Second day of our little trip we went to Apple Annies in Wilcox.

We started out the morning with a pumpkin pancake breakfast with apple cider syrup. YUMMY!! Then we took a tractor ride out to the orchard to pick our apples.

The kids loved this. We picked Granny Smith and Rome Apples. They were delicious. We also picked some asian pears.

We also took a hay ride out to the pumpkin field and picked our own pumpkins. The kids thought that cutting them off the vine was the greatest part.

They had a giant corn maze that took 45 minutes. A beautiful field of sunflowers that you could cut. And THE BEST homemade pumpkin ice cream I have ever tasted (Alexa says the apple ice cream is the best)

We had a great weekend. The kids were all happy and can't wait to go again next year.

Daddy Dates

We have a tradition were Daddy takes the kids on a date every month. Sometimes just for a walk or a treat and sometimes bigger. Sometimes he takes a few together. With 4 kiddos we don't always get it done either!! When it happens they love it. When the girls were little they would make me dress them up and do their hair just right. Then they would watch out the window until Daddy came to pick them up. They don't want to admit it but they still do this in a more grown up way. Boston calls his a "Man Day"! I love it!

A few weeks ago I took the girls Ice Skating for a birthday party they got invited to. We knew we would be gone a while so Boston and Dad planned a man day. They painted Boston's bike ramp and went to Cabbala's. The Boys loved it.

The Girls got to have a Daddy Day next! While they were gone I got to have the cutest date ever (Boston) take me to see a movie. Then he wanted to go running and have pizza. What a fun date!

The Girls Hiked Camelback with Dad. It was a tough hike and they can't wait to go back.

After the hike he took them to get lunch and see a movie. Alexa was so excited because they got Pae Wei. I think she could eat this and seafood everyday if we let her. Sera got to pick the movie, Secretariat. They had a GREAT TIME!

Thanks Daddy for making traditions and memories the kids will never forget!

Football

Boston is playing Flag Football again this year. He loves it. He is the oldest on the team this year instead of the youngest. It is amazing the difference a year makes. He is playing offense and defense. He is pulling flags, catching passes, and making touchdowns.

If you leave the fridge open and turn your back, this is what can happen! I was cleaning out the fridge and turned around to him drinking Hershey's Syrup right from the bottle. The kids left the fridge open and he snuck the bottle outside in a toy and we found him eating and painting the jeep with it. How do you get mad at that grin?!

Sera turned 11 on the 11th. Or as she likes to call it her "Golden Birthday"! She wasn't suppose to have a party this year but I told her she could have a couple of friends over for a swim/007 party. The girls all slept over after and stayed up until 2 am. I guess they are preparing me for the fast approaching teen years.

Here is the cute group! Or at least how it started. After swimming we went out front to begin our game of 007! As we got the spot light out and a few of the neighborhood kids we had invited joined us, the group just kept growing. I think at one point we were searching for at least 25 kids. It was a great time. It was great for Sera who tends to be a little shy. She loved it.

I got to go to the Stuffington bear factory with Boston's first grade class. It is one of only 3 bear factories left in the U.S. They let the kids make a bear and then give them a tour of the factory. They loved it.

Labor Day

We started out the weekend at the cabin. Then came home a little early to hit up a local resort for a last minute deal. We stayed the night and spent Monday at the pool enjoying the lazy river, water slides and all the pools. The kids loved it. They did great hanging out and swimming together. They must have done the lazy river half the day. Beck hung out with mom and dad and loved watching and laughing at the kids. It was a great family day!

Another Payson Adventure!

We spent another weekend in Payson, out of the heat and out in the open! We went on another hike (sorry no pictures, a storm moved in so we took off!), helped papa with a little gardening, and went to a Payson high school football game.

Our awesome guide (and my brother) Eric took us on a couple of adventures. First was the rained out hike. The next day we stopped and let the kids find some fossils. They came away with shark teeth, plants, shells, and more. Then it was on to the fish hatchery.

This kid only loves one thing in this world more than his blankey.....his daddy! So when the time comes that I HAVE to put it in the wash because I can't stand it anymore, it is a tough day.

He stands and waits the ENTIRE cycle without moving....

Every year we do a back to school party as a family. This year I went to Tempe Water Park with Misty and her kids during the day. Dad was at home setting up for the party!

Then we came home and dad had built the traditional fort for our back to school party

We had Pizza, root beer floats and watched Avatar. The kids felt pretty special because we let them watch it. They always love this tradition and we have a great night every time!

The girls had a cute little back to school fashion show at church the day before school. They looked GREAT!

our rainy adventure

Right before school started we went to Payson for some last minute fun. We went up to visit the dentist, go to the lake and take the kids on a hike or two. Instead we played in the rain, ALOT!!!

So what did we do in the rain....

Trevor caught a tarantula for all the kids. Yep they are checkin it out in the kitchen!

We had a frog hop in the house one morning and Boston caught him to keep as a pet while I was at the dentist. He thought it might be cold so he set him in the sun in a tightly sealed tupperware bowl. It was a cute WATER frog they named Red...he had no water!

Yes that is the dead frog and boston is plugging his nose.

Just hanging out. Beckom came and got us and wanted us to sit right by him on the fireplace. He would pat right where we were supposed to sit.

Finally we had a little break in the rain so off we went on a hike

Sea Life

A few weeks ago my kids earned free passes to the new Sea Life aquarium doing the summer reading program at the library. So, off we went. We had Grandma Anderson and Mike and Stacey's kids with us too.

Boston is a great kid with a great heart. Yes, he can drive us all crazy but he also is the sweetest kid. A few sundays ago he wanted to have Beckom and him match for church. He helped pick everything out and was so proud.

These two are already best buds. Beckom lights up when he sees him. And walks around the house calling "bubba" when he is not home. Boston is really good with him and loves to play with him. He never complains or gets upset when I ask him to help out. Most of the time I find them together anyway.

Recently Boston asked if he can start mowing the lawn. I thought "no way, what 6 year old mows the lawn". Well this boy does. He is such a great help to his dad and I. He loves to work along side his dad. He is also really good at mowing. This is how you will find him most saturday mornings.

My kids that is. They are little fish. They had an amazing swim season. But more importantly they loved it. Even if I tried to give them an early morning off they would want to get up and go!! I am so proud of them.

All three of them went to divisional' s. Sera swam freestyle, backstroke and butterfly. Alexa swam back and free and Boston did free, back, and butterfly. You had to place in the top 16 to go to the city semi finals. All three qualified . Sera went for freestyle and place 8th ! Alexa went for Freestyle and got 4th and backstroke with a 2nd! Boston got 1st in Backstroke, 3rd in freestyle, and 1st in butterfly. The top 4 got to move on to the city championships. That meant that Alexa and Boston would both be swimming.

Sera getting ready to swim. She worked so hard this year and had a great attitude. She wants to swim year round and is going to do great. She was in a VERY competitive age group and we are so proud of her.

Boston with his cap and googles, he takes his sports very serious! He is so serious about it that he worked out with the older age group every morning and was determined to make it all the way up to the hardest practice lanes. Way to go Bubba!

Here is Boston and Alexa after the City Championships. Alexa placed 2nd in backstroke and 4th in Freestyle. Boston got 2nd in butterfly 2nd in backstroke and 5th in freestyle.

Mom and dad couldn't be more proud of our kids. We are just so excited that they have a great time and work hard at it!

The Cabin on the 4th

We went to the Breinholt's cabin for the 4th of July. It was so nice to get out of the heat. It is great to just relax and have fun. We went for hikes, played games, ate a lot of food, watched fireworks, rode go carts, and most important.... the kids LOVE it! We took some pictures of our hike and the go cart rides but they didn't turn out. I am sad!

My niece Tessa was visiting from Utah and went up with us. It was AWESOME! Not only was it great to spend time with her but she played with the kids the entire time. Did I say AWESOME!!

Here is Frankie's sidkick. He is attached, and the feeling is mutual. He is helping dad get the quad ready to ride. (he found a stick and pretended to work on the tire)

This Summer Alexa did a two week musical theater camp with Ms. Jenee. It was so much fun. They had a theme everyday and dressed up, took sack lunches, earned prizes and learned a ton of songs!

The night of the big show Alexa had a solo and a speaking part. She did great. With all of her "personality" I think we may have found the perfect thing for her. The theme for the show was "It's All Good". Every song was about sunshine and happiness. It was a lot of fun.

Swim Team and Scorpions

Swim Team has become our life this summer. That or swimming. Basically you can find my kids in water most of the time. They Love it. We love that they love it, we are all happy!

Sera loves swim so much that she is begging to do club swim this year. She is a great swimmer and gets better each week. She also started diving this year. We are waiting for that to grow on her. She works very hard at swim and never wants to miss. She always wants to be the best and I love that.

Alexa shocked us all this year. Last year she cried every practice and never made it to one swim meet. This year she is coming out of the water with 1st and 2nd place ribbons and a huge smile to go with it. Way to go Lex! She has a great attitude and is VERY competitive. I wonder where she gets that from?

The Bos man. He takes competitive to an entirely new level. This kid works out with the older age group everyday (he was plowing down the kids his age). He recently competed in the Relay meet (coach invite). He raced a relay with his age group, then with the 7&8 year olds and then a kid for the IM left and they asked Boston to swim 2 legs. He did Backstroke and Freestyle. He was AWESOME! I hope he keeps this great attitude and desire to work hard at it!

All this swimming makes everyone tired. I had to put this picture on because Sera NEVER naps. Hasn't since she was 2, not even in the car. After Swim and dive I found her on the couch like this!

On the way out the door to our first swim meet, Frankie hurried and fed Beck. With no time to clean up his mess, this is what we came home to.....

Look close, not one but TWO scorpions eating off my kitchen floor....Are you Kidding me??!!!

And the very same night we caught this mom with 20 (that's what we counted) babies on her back!

Frankie did the Deuces Wild Triathlon in Showlow. After taking a year off from races (not training), he did a GREAT job. It was really hot and made for a tough race. He continues to impress us with his determination and hard work.

The race was 3/4 mile run, 3 mile bike, and 1/4 mile run

Boston is a STUD! This kid had to compete with the 7&8 year old kids(he is 6). He crossed the finish line 5th overall but didn't get a trophy because the kids that finished before him were the same age group. He has great stamina, he did so well because his last run time was still fast, he wasn't as tired. Way to go!

Alexa surprised us all. She is really competitive. She was the fastest girl OVERALL. That means she came in ahead of 12 year olds too. She got first place in her age group. She did awesome. We are very proud of her.

Sera had a very fast first run. Then she got on the bike and saw the HUGE hill she had to ride on. She had a little panic attack and couldn't breath.(we need to get her out on her bike more often) The amazing thing about Sera is that she didn't give up. A very nice stranger stayed with her and made sure she was ok and when we met up with her she was crying but still going. She finished the race and was very disappointed but learned a great lesson. DON'T give up. The other two girls in her age group had quit so Sera got first place. We are so proud of her for sticking to it. A little bike practice and she will be GREAT!

My family amazes me everyday. What a great example they ALL are to me. I guess I better set a goal and take a turn, dang it!
